Notes for Sarah HAMMOND
From the Studholm Report (1783): GAGETOWN: 8. Elijah Easterbrooks,
has a wife and 8 children, a log house with 2 rooms, and about 12
acres of land cleared. Came from Cornwallis about 16 years past,
settled at the mouth of the river, and says he was drove up by the
rebels.

Elijah and Sarah moved to Cambridge ( Waterbury ) in 1787. He was a
farmerand a member of the Congregational Church. He died shortly
before Aug. 11, 1796 at the home of his son John in Swan Creek,
Queens Co., New Brunswick , Canada.Elijah was buried at Mill Cove.
(In 1932, the gravesite was on the farm of Jefferson Dykeman; the
tombstone was no longer there).
