| Notes for Christopher OAKS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| William S., Richard, Christopher and Hanford; and eight daughters - Elizabeth, Unce, Ann, Jane, Mary, Emmer, Freelove and Winifred, who married respectively, McDonald, Olive, Lloyd, Jewell, Stover, Price, Carroll and Mabee b. aft. 1775/6, New Brunswick? b. 13 April 1773, Marblehead, Essex Co. Mass. -- no baptism record was found for him in Marblehead, although all of his older siblings were found The obituary of his older brother, James, states, "He was born in the Province of Massachusetts, was removed by his parents when he was about seven years of age to New Brunswick." This would have been about the year 1773. Christopher was probably born in New Brunswick after 1773. The 1891 Canada census in Charlotteville indicates that his son, Hanford, has a father born in Nova Scotia. Perhaps Christopher's parents moved to Nova Scotia from Marblehead, Mass. in 1773, before moving to Gagetown, New Brunswick. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
