| Butcher, Hotel Keeper, Gentleman. Methodist. Death (April 29, 1903): BPOE Memorial of deaths between 1904 and 1929 lists Stephen S. Skinner's death as 10/14/1905 (Source: Coddington Co. Genealogy Web page) Burial: He and Helen are buried in a vault at Mt. Hope that he built himself. I have seen this vault. (WJB) Occupation: Farmer from Cook's Mills. Moved to Clifton (now Niagara Falls) prior to 1850. Was a butcher and operated one of the first hotels in Clifton. Moved to Watertown, South Dakota in 1881 (town 3 years old). Built a hotel and operated it until his death. 1886 General and Business Directory, City of Watertown, SD lists S. S. Skinner as "proprietor of Farmers Home, residence same." 1881 Canadian Census lists him as a "gentleman." Religion: From Internet (Coddington Co Web page): Stephen Smith Skinner and his family were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Watertown in 1888. 1881 Canadian Census lists Stephen and his family as C.
