She appears in the 1870 U.S. Federal Census, but not the 1880 census.
She may have died before the 1880 census, presumably in
Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and may be buried at Mound Cemetery (now
Wildwood Cemetery) where her granddaughter, Margaret Elizabeth Hess
is buried. Wildwood Cemetery does not have records before 1900 for
Mound Cemetery.
She does not appear in the Lycoming County Courthouse, Death
Resisters. The Lycoming County Courthouse is missing death registers
for 1877 and 1878. She may have died during this period. |

According to Joan Mary HAHN, her grandmother, Mary Jane HESS, told
her, that her mother, Elizabeth CALLAHAN, had two others, James (a
policeman) and John. She says she did not mention a brother
William. William CALLAHAN may not be a son of James CALLAHAN and
Jane DALE, but may have some other relationship to James CALLAHAN. |
