| Notes for Christina Friederike SEIFRIED | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Her daughter, Freda Krebs said her mother was Schwabian (with certainty) and thought she was born in Stuttgart (with less certainty). Her death certificate indicates she was born on 9 January 1871, and her age at death on 8 April 1920 at 49 years, 2 months, and 30 days confirms this date. However, the Family Register in Heimerdingen gives a birth-year of 1870 for her, and not 1871. According to her daughter, Freda Katherine Krebs: She was Schwabian and immigrated to America from Stuttgart (she thinks it was Stuttgart). She made cheese for Abbotts dairy store, and also cleaned houses and took washing and ironing jobs. She wanted to get out of the hospital to see her daughter, and to say goodbye, but died in the hospital before she got to see her. She was Evangelical Lutheran, and her daughter strongly believes she was a believer. 1900 United States Federal Census Record (on 1 June, enumerated 4 & 5 June): In 1900, at age 30, she was married to her husband, Frederick Krebs for four years, and lived with him and their one year old son in a house rented at 2206 Seventh Street, Philadelphia. It states that she was born in Germany on January 1870 to German born parents and that she immigrated in 1889 at the age of 10, and was the mother of one child who was still living. 1910 United States Federal Census Record (on 15 April, enumerated 22 April): In 1910, at age 40, she was married to her husband, Frederick Krebs for 15 years (her first marriage). They lived with their eleven year old son in a house rented at 2206 Seventh Street, Philadelphia. She was the mother of two children, one still living. She spoke German and was born in Germany to German speaking, German born parents and immigrated in 1889. 1920 United States Federal Census Record (on 1 January, enumerated 12 January): In 1920, at age 50, she was married to her husband, Frederick Krebs, and lived with him and their two children in a house they owned at 2132 Reese Street, Philadelphia. She spoke German and was born in Germany to German speaking, German born parents and immigrated in 1890 (a one year discrepency with the 1900 and 1910 census), and became a naturalized citizen of the U.S. (at the same time as her husband in 1898, if accurate). | ||||||||||||||||||||||
