Last Will & Testament of Peter Walmer I

In the name of God Amen.   This seventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety-two I Peter Walmer the elder, of East Hanover sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory and understanding thanks be to God, calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make & ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave it me and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a Christian like & decent manner and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

 

Imprimis. It is my will and I do hereby order in the first place that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid of and satisfied as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.

 

Item. It is my will and I do hereby order that the seven bonds signed to me by my son John Walmer for the sum of two hundred pounds that the same shall be paid to my Executors hereafter named and then it is my will that as the beforesaid bonds becomes due then I do hereby order my Executors hereafter named to pay unto my daughter Susanna Shell the aforesaid sum of two hundred pounds as the same become due according to the bonds and no otherwise whatsoever.

 

Item. It is further my will and I do hereby give and bequeath unto all my children all the remainder of my estate that is not heretofore given unto my said daughter Susanna that is Peter Walmer, George Walmer and John Walmer and Susanna Shell to be equally divided between them share and share alike.

 

Item. I give and bequeath unto my said son Peter Walmer the sum of five pounds gold or silver money of Pennsylvania to be paid to him one year after my decease over and above his equal share with one of the rest of my children for his first birthright.

 

Item. I give and bequeath unto my son-in-law Peter Shell the sum of five shillings gold or silver money which shall be in full of all his part or share to all my estate in right of his wife Susanna or otherwise whatsoever.  But he shall be from thenseforth debarred and forever excluded therefrom.

 

And lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my two sons George Walmer and Peter Walmer Executors of this my last will and testament revoking and disanulling & making void all former and other will and wills & Executors by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.  In witness whereof I the said Peter Walmer the elder have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid.
