| Notes for Harold Daniel HAHN | ||||||||||
| According to Bill Meyers: Harold Daniel Hahn, b. Apr 22, 1929, Phila; d. May 5 1979, Cincinnati, OH; bur. Cincinnati, OH (United Jewish Cemeteries); m. Dec 16, 1962, Detroit, MI (Temple Beth El) to Nancy Helen Cohen, b. Aug 20, 1939, Detroit, MI. They had 2 children: Melanie Hahn, b. Feb 17, 1964, Detroit, MI Barbara Marcia Hahn, b. Sep 10, 1967, Norfolk, VA A lot of the info I have about this branch came through Melanie who has an interest in the family history too and found me through Judy Hahn's brother Frank Hahn III. Some coincidence eh? Harold Daniel Hahn was ordained as a Rabbi at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati in 1955. He then went into the chaplaincy and was stationed in Rabat, Morocco but traveled all over the Mediterranean from Casablanca to the Black Sea. After finishing his tour of duty he went to a Congregation in Broomall, PA. He may have been their first Rabbi as it was a new congregation.. He went to Detroit around 1960 as assistant to Rabbi Richard Hertz at Temple Beth El, an old German Reform Congregation. Nancy and Harold met there. In 1964 Harold was called to Congregation Ohef Sholom in Norfolk, VA staying there about 5 years. when he was elected to the pulpit of Rockdale Temple in Cincinnati, OH in 1969. Nancy, Harold's wife, remarried after his death to Jerry Emanuel Klein, b. Apr 4, 1933, Cincinnati, OH. They married Aug 7, 1982, Cincinnati, OH (Rockdale Temple). | ||||||||||
