HENRY HAHN
Henry Hahn, who for more than fifty years represented in this city Rothfeld, Stern & Company, importers, of New York City, died at his home, 3340 N. Sixteenth Street, last Friday morning, March 21, in his eighty-first year. Mr. Hahn was born at Eppelsheim, Germany, December 29, 1849, the son of Jacob and Fanny Berg Hahn.
Mr. Hahn was a member of the twentieth sectional school board for many years and always took an active interest in educational, charitable and other community affairs. He was one of the oldest members of Congregation Keneseth Israel and the Orphans Guardian Society. In 1871 Mr. Hahn married Clara Heiman, who died in 1896.
Surviving Mr. Hahn are his four daughters, Fannie B. Hahn, Caroline H. Hahn, Katherine G. Hahn, Helene V. Hahn, and three sons, Leon H. Hahn, Frank E. Hahn, and Albert J. Hahn.
Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon at his late residence, Rabi Julian Feibelman officiating. Washington Lodge, No. 59 F. and A. M., and keystone chapter, No. 175, R. A. M., conducted services at the grave.

MRS. CLARA HAHN
Mrs. Clara Hahn, wife of Mr. Henry Hahn, died last Saturday after an illness of but a few days. Mrs. Hahn was born in this city in 1851, and was married in 1871. Her maiden name was Heiman. Deceased was well known for her many kind and charitable acts, and her sudden death will be greatly mourned by her many friends, among whom she was universally beloved. Her husband and nine children - Fannie, Carrie, Nettie, Katie, Helen, Alverta, Leon, Frank and Albert - survive her. The funeral took place from her late residence, 1806 Franklin Street, last Monday. Rev. J. Leonord(sic) Levy officiated.

Alverda S. Hahn
After an illness of only four hours, Alverda S. Hahn, the 15-year-old daughter of Mr. Henry Hahn, died last Tuesday morning of cerebro spinal meningitis at her father's home, 1806 North Franklin street.
Her sad death proved a great shock to her relatives and friends. She had been in apparently good health on Monday evening and the rapidity with which the case developed was astounding. She was a very promising young girl, having just entered the Girls High School. Her family have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.
The funeral took place on Wednesday morning and was strickly private. The interment was made at the Adath Jeshurun Cemetery.

Frank E. Hahn Jr.Frank E. Hahn Jr., 94, a longtime attorney who provided a range of legal services, died Feb. 18 at the Fountains at Logan Square.
Hahn graduated from Northeast High School in 1928, the University of Pennsylvania in 1932 and the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1935. He served as president of his alumni class from 1987 to 1992, and chairman of his class' 60th-reunion annual-giving campaign.
He joined the currently named law firm of Obermayer, Rebmann, Maxwell and Hippel in 1935, directly after graduating from law school. He remained at Obermayer throughout his active career, becoming Of Counsel to the firm in 1986.
As the practice of law evolved into a profession of "specialists," Hahn was one of Philadelphia's well-known "generalists," providing a range of legal services, including labor, real estate, immigration and family law.
Also active in the community, especially in the area of youth development and education, Hahn was a supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, culminating in his service as president of the Philadelphia Council in 1976-77. He also served on the Regional Advisory Board and as legal advisor to the Philadelphia Council. For his work, he earned the Silver Beaver, Silver Antelope and Mary S. Hart Awards.
In addition, he was a member of the Cheltenham Township School Board for 12 years in various officer positions, including president.
Hahn sat on the Albert Einstein Hospital Board of Trustees since 1952 in various capacities, including secretary and vice chairman. As chairman of the Nursing Committee, he became an active supporter of nursing, and received the Dora Mathis Award in 1969 from the Southeastern Pennsylvania League of Nursing for his contribution to the profession.
He worked with the Philadelphia and American Bar associations, and served as a member of the House of Delegates of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and on the Trust Law and Real Property Committees of the American Bar Association.
Hahn was admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret "Peggy" Berg; a daughter, Judith Kramer; a son, Frank E. Hahn III; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

FERDINAND HAHN
Ferdinand Hahn, husband of Hannah Hahn, died on Sunday last, after an illness of nine months, aged 59 years. His wife, three sons, LeRoy, Walter, and Harry Hahn, and three daughters, Mrs. Bickart, of Pittsburg, Birdie and Hazel Hahn, survive him.
The funeral services were held on Thursday at his late residence, 2137 North Eighteenth street, and the interment was made at the Adath Jeshurun Cemetery.

Mra. Hannah Hahn, widow of Fred Hahn, died at Pittsburgh, Pa., on Friday of last week, aged 57 years. She was formerly a resident of this city.
The funeral services were held on Sunday at the parlors of Emmanuel Asher and Son, 1602 Diamond street. The interment was made at the Adath Jeshurun Cemetery.

CHARLES SPEIER
After an illness of less than five days Charles Speier, who for more than fifteen years, served as a guard outside the Mayor's office in the City Hall, died early Monday morning at his home, 1816 Diamond street. He was 68 years old.
He was born in Germany and came to this country at an early age. A widow and one daughter survive him.
The funeral services were held on Wednesday, at his late residence, and the interment was made at the Adath Jeshurun Cemetery.

Alexander I. Levy, husband of Fannye Speier Levy, died on Tuesday last at his home, 1925 W. Venango Street. Funeral services were held on Thursday at Morris Rosenburg's Son Memorial Chapel, 2009 N. Broad Street. Interment at Adath Jeshurun Cemetery.
Deceased is survived by his wife and daughter, Miss Claire Levy.

Gustave Goslar died on Sunday last at his home in New York city, after a long illness. A daughter, Mrs. Florence G. Oppenheimer, of New York, survives him. He was a brother of Misses Emma and Adele Goslar and Herman Goslar, of New York city; Mrs. B. Klein of Philadelphia, and Mrs. M. M. Cohen, of Toronto. Deceased was a member of Rappaport Lodge and of Washington Lodge, F. and A. M.
The funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon and the interment was made at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Mrs. Matilda Hahn, nee Mann, wife of Isaac Hahn, died on Saturday last, aged 68 years. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at her late residence, 2917 North Twenty-fifth street. Rabbis William H. FLORENCE WOLF GOTTHOLD
Mrs. Florence Wolf Gotthold an artist, widow of Frederick Gotthold died last Sunday at her summer home in Wilton, Conn., at the age of 72. Mrs. Gotthold was prominent in New York art circles. Many of her paintings have been exhibited in galleries here and in Boston. Mrs. Gotthold was educated in Washington, D.C. and later studied art in New York. She was a member of the Greenwich Society of Artists and the Pen and Brush Club. The suffarage cause had her as one of its pioneer proponents. Mrs. Gotthold is survived by her son, Arthur F. Gotthold, a New York lawyer, a brother, Judge Adolph G. Wolf of the Supreme Court of Porto Rico, and two sisters, Mrs. Myer Cohen and Miss May Wolf both of Washington.

OBITUARY
PHILIP OSTHEIM
On Tuesday last Mr. Philip Ostheim died at his residence, 1312 North Seventh Street, after an illness of three weeks. He was sixty-eight years of age having been born in Westphalia, Prussia, in 1824. Mr. Ostheim came to this country in 1848. He settled in Philadelphia, where he resided until his death. During the past thirty years Mr. Ostheim was in the clothing business, which he carried on at the corners of Second Street and Germantown Avenue. He was married May 17, 1850 to Henrietta Wolf, they being the first couple married by the Rev. Dr. Frankel, of Rodef Sholom Congregation. For a number of years past Mr. Ostheim has been a member of Keneseth Israel Congregation. He was an organizer and past president of Joshua Lodge, and was at the time of his death president of Philadelphia Lodge, Kesher Shel Barzel. He was also a member of Humboldt Masonic Lodge, Tristram B. Freeman, Chapter, St. John's Masonic Relief, Keystone Lodge, Knights of Birmingham, Cincinnatus Lodge, Knights of Pythias, and Merchants' Council No. 707, Legion of Honor. Mr Ostheim was widely esteemed throughout the community as a man of sterling integrity and noble qualities. He was unostentatiously charitable, and his death is mourned by a large circle of friends throughout the community. His wife, one daughter, Clara, and five sons, Abraham, Benjamin, Isaac, David and Louis (lieutenant in the U.S. Army), survive him.
The funeral will take place today (Friday). Rev. Dr. Joseph Krauskopf and Rev. Wm. Armhold will officiate.

BERTHA OSTHEIM WALTER
Bertha Ostheim Walter, died on Wednesday of last week after an illness of two months. She was born in Philadelphia and lived here for a number of years, but spent the last thirty years in Atlantic City where she has been active in communal and charitable work. Her husband was a brother of Mr. Henry J. Walter of Philadelphia, and Miss Carrie Walter of Atlantic City.
Funeral services were held on Friday from the parlors of Morris Rosenberg's Son, Rabbi Henry Fisher of Atlantic City, officiating.

Maurice Walter died at Atlantic City on Sunday last, aged 76 years. The funeral services were held Tuesday and the interment was made at Mt. Sinai Cemetery.

MRS. CAROLINE MANN.
Mrs Caroline Mann, widow of the late Abraham Mann, died on Thursday evening of last week at the residence of her son, Mr. Jacob Mann, 1918 Franklin Street. Mrs. Mann had been an invalid for some years. A son, two daughters and a sister survive her. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon. Rev. J. Leonard Levy officiated. Interment was made at Mt. Sinai Cemetery.

Mrs. Henrietta Joseph
On Tuesday, June the 5th, at Philadelphia, there was laid to rest the mortal part of a woman who not only reached an exceptional old age, but who was also a remarkable women in every relation of life.
She was born in Eppelsheim, Hessen Darmstadt, June 22nd, 1795, and was married early in life to Mr. H. Joseph, and moved to Albesheim, Hessen Darmstadt.
Her maiden name was Herz or Hart; she was one of eleven sisters, also had two brothers, and all of them and their descendants have left their mark in social and public life.
The one sister was Mrs. Greenebaum of Chicago, mother of Henry; the one brother Hart was the father of Abraham and Henry Hart of Chicago; one sister was a Felsenthal, mother of Herman and Michael of Chicago; one was a Spiegel, mother of Col. M. M. Spiegel and Joseph Spiegel of Chicago; another of a Hahn, mother of Herrman F., president of the United States Jewellers’ Assn., of Mrs. S. A. Rider of St. Louis, of Mrs. Moses Joseph of Chicago, and of Mrs. Simon Wolf of Washington, D.C., etc., etc. Mrs. Joseph had two daughters and five sons, the one daughter was the well-known and deeply lamented Mrs. Abraham Wolf of Philadelphia, the other is the devoted Mrs. Felix Schloss of Minersville, Pa., where Mrs. Joseph had lived for years and where she died; the sons are Marx, living in Cleveland, O., Joseph in Akron, O, Michael, Simon and Moses in Chicago.
Michael and Moses, and Esther Schloss were at the funeral.
Rev. Dr. M. Jastrow spoke feelingly in German, while Simon Wolf, the nephew by marriage, spoke in English; both attempted in faint outlines to do justice to the noble qualities of the departed.

JACOB MANN
Jacob Mann, well known in the community here, died at his apartment in the Majestic Hotel last Tuesday after a long illness. Mr. Mann was associated with James Collins Jones, with offices in the Bullitt Building. Ill health for a year had kept him from native business participation. He was born in Philadelphia and was 59 years old. His widow and one son Alfred Mann survive him.

Jacob J. Mann
Funeral services for Jacob J. Mann, of 1528 Louden St., who died Thrusday, May 24, were held last Sunday. He was 56.
Mr. Mann was a real estate and insurance broker for 35 years with an office at 19th and Chestnut Sts. He served in an infantry division during the first world war and was a member of the Houston Post, American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian D., and two daughters, Mrs. Adele Haas and Mrs. Phyllis Martin. Burial was in Chelten Hills Cemetery.
