By Virtue of a Warrant dated the 14th day of August 1751Surveyed the 12th day of February 1751 to Peter Walmer the above Described Tract of Land Situate inHanover Township Lancaster County Containing Two Hundred and Six Acres and 1/4Allowance Six pCent

WHEREASPeter Walmer of the County of Lancasterhath requested that we would grant him to take up One Hundred Acres of Landadjoining Jacob Nufser & WidowWyrich in Hanover Township in the said Countyof Lancaster for which he agrees to pay to our Use Fifteen Pounds TenShillings, current Money of this Province, for said Hundred Acres with LawfulInterest for the same and the yearly Quit-rent of One Half-penny Sterling perevery Acre thereof Both to commence from the time of Settlement

 

THESEare therefore to authorise and require you to survey, or cause to be surveyed,onto the said Peter Walmer at the Placeaforesaid, according to the Method of Townships appointed, the said Quantity ofone hundred Acres, if not already surveyed or appropriated, and make Returnthereof into the Secretary's Office, in order for further Confirmation, forwhich this shall be your sufficient Warrant: Which Survey, in Case the said PeterWalmer fulfil the above Agreement, within SixMonths from the Date hereof, shall be valid, otherwise void.

 

GIVENunder my Hand, and the Seal of the Land-Office, by Virtue of certain Powersfrom the said Proprietaries, at Philadelphia, this Fourteenth Day of AugustAnno Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty One.

Thomas Penn and RichardPenn Esquires true and absoluteProprietaries & Governors in Chief of the Province of Pennsylvania &Counties of New Castle Kent & Sussex upon Delaware To all to whom thesePresents shall come send Greeting Whereas in Pursuance of a Warrant dated thefourteenth day of August one thousand seven hundred and fifty one there wassurveyed unto Peter Walmer Acertain Tract of Land situate in Hanover Township in Lancaster County Beginningat a marked white Oak Thence by Alexander McCullocks Land South five Degrees West one hundred &sixty Perches to a Post thence by John Gillilands Land South eighty Degrees West one hundred &twenty six Perches to a marked Hickory thence by George Wyrick's Land North thirty Degrees West Two hundred &forty eight Perches to a marked white Oak Thence by Hugh Gillilands Land East fifty two Perches and a half to a markedwhite Oak and white Oak and North thirty Degrees West seven Perches and a halfto a marked white Oak Thence by Noways Frederick's Land North seventy one Degrees East one hundred andninety Perches to a post Thence by Jacob Mosers Land South fifteen Degrees East one hundred andfive Perches to a marked white Oak and East seven Perches to the Place ofBeginning Containing Two hundred and seventy seven Acres and a half andallowance of Six Acres pCent for Roads ??, as in and by the said Warrant &Survey remaining in the Surveyor Generals Office and from thence Certified intoour Secretary's Office more fully appears Now at the Instance and Request ofthe said Peter Walmer that wewould be pleased to grant him a Confirmation of the same Know ye that inConsideration of the sum of Forty three Pounds lawful Money of Pennsylvania toour Use paid by the said Peter Walmer The Receipt whereof we hereby acknowledge & thereof do acquit andfor ever discharge the said Peter Walmer his Heirs and Assigns by these Presents and of the yearly Quitrenthereinafter mentioned and reserved We have given granted released and confirmedand by these Presents for us our Heirs and Successors do give grant release& confirm unto the said Peter Walmer his Heirs & Assigns the said Two hundred and seventy seven Acresand a half of an Acre of Land as the same are now set forth bounded and limitedas aforesaid With all Mines Minerals Quarries Meadows Marshes Savannahs SwampsCripples Woods Underwoods Timber and Trees Ways Waters Watercourses LibertiesProfits Commodities Advantages Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoeverthereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and lying within the Bounds& Limits aforesaid [Threefull and clear fifth Parts of all Royal Mines freefrom all Deductions and Reprizals for digging and refining the same and alsoone fifth Part of the Ore of all other Mines delivered at the Pitsmouth? onlyexcepted and hereby reserved] and also free Leave Rights and Liberty to and forthe said Peter Walmer his Heirsand Assigns to Hawk Hunt Fish and Fowl in and upon the hereby granted Land andPremises or upon any Part thereof To have & to hold the said Two hundredand sevety seven Acres and a half of an Acre of Land and Premises herebygranted except as before excepted with their Appurtenances unto the said PeterWalmer his Heirs and Assigns To the onlyUse and Bahoof of the said Peter Walmer his Heirs and Assigns for ever To be holden of us our Heirs andSuccessors Proprietaries of Pennsylvania as of our Manor of Conestogo in theCounty of Lancaster aforesaid in free & common Soccageby? Fealty? only inLieu of all other Services Yielding and Paying therefore yearly unto us ourHeirs and Successors at the Town of Lancaster in the said County at or upon thefirst day of March in every year from the first Day of march last one halfPenny Sterling for every Acre of the same or value thereof in Coin Currentaccording as the Exchange shall then be between our said Province and the Cityof Land onto such Person or Persons as shall from Time to Time be appointed toreceive the same And in Case of Nonpayment thereof within ninety Days nextafter the same shall become due That then it shall and may be lawful for us ourHeirs and Successors our and their Receiver or Receivers into and upon thehereby granted Land & Premises to Renter & the same to hold and possessuntil the said Quitrent and all arrears thereof Together with the Chargesaccruing by means of such Nonpayment and Reentry be fully paid and dischargedWitness John Penn Esquire LieutenantGovernor of the said Province who by Virtue of certain Powers and Authoritiesto him for this Purpose, inter alia, granted by the said Proprietaries hathhereunto set his Hand and caused the Great Seal of the said Province to behereunto affixed at Philadelphia this eighteenth day of August in the year ofour Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty six The Sixth year of the Reignof King George the Third overGreat Britain ?? and the Forty eighth year of the said Proprietaries GovernmentJohn Penn L.
