According to the 1911 Canada census, she has a brother Leonard
HILTON, b. May 1841, Ontario.
According to Lewis Parker Abell, she was born in "Crowland, Welland
County, Ont. They resided on a large farm at Hewitt station, 7 miles
west of Welland, where the writer spent a happy fortnight's vacation
in July 1883 before he came to realize that he had just been left an
orphan. Here also his grandfather spent his last years in the kindly
care of his sister." |
