| Occupation: Schultheiß (Mayor) in Warmbronn Georg BAUR is probably a resident of Warmbronn, at the time of his marriage at Warmbronn in 1640, given that there is no mention of his residency in the marriage record, but there is a mention of his bride's residency at Altensteig, and it is probably safe to assume that his residency would have been provided if he were not from Warmbronn. There is also no mention in the marriage record of the names of the fathers of the bride and groom. If Georg BAUR was single, one would expect the name of his father be included. The conspicuous failure to add the customary name of the father or previous husband of the bride, would lead one to conclude that it is possible that Georg BAUR was single and his father's name was un-customarily left out too, and that the omission does not suggest he is unrelated to the only BAUR family at Warmbronn prior to 1640, or that he is widowed (which, if he were, would suggest that he is not from Warmbronn, given that there is no widow buried there or prior children born to him there). The marriage record is recorded at the top of a page, that would otherwise be a blank page, offering the possibility that the entry was recorded sometime after 1640, and that standard practices were not being followed when it was recording. No baptism record was found for a Georg son of Veit BAUR, but a four year gap in the baptismal records at Warmbronn, between 1617 and 1620, may explain why. There is also a four year gap between baptisms of two of the children of Veit BAUR in neighboring Eltingen, between 1608 and 1612. Although it has not yet been proven that Georg BAUR, Schultheiß is the son of Veit BAUR & Anna NEPPACH, it has also not been contrived. There is a strong implication that he is from Warmbronn, and a strong probability that he was still single at the time of his marriage at Warmbronn, and a strong possibility that he was born into the only known BAUR family residing at Warmbronn at that time. He was probably born in 1617 at Warmbronn during the period of the four year gap in their baptismal register. He would later name one of his sons Veit, showing a possible faint connection to the older Veit BAUR. | ||||||||||||
