Notes for Thomas GIGGALL
His birthyear is estimated to be as close as possible to the age of
his wife (b. abt 1821), while still leaving a two year gap between he
and his older brother, Benjamin (b. abt. 1820), a pattern his parents
employed for the previous eleven children. He could possibly be a
twin of Rachel (b. 1818), or Benjamin (b. abt. 1820). The baptisms
for Rachel, Benjamin and Thomas do not appear in the register at All
Saints Church, Dewsbury, possibly because the Congregation of
Protestant Dissenters at Ossett was founded in 1717, and the youngest
children were baptized there (or by a non-comformist minister of
another church on their behalf).
