Giggle (pronounced "Jiggle") is the anglicised form of the German
name, Von Giggle (pronounced "Guy"-gle). Giggleswick, England is
allegedly named after the Giggle family, and is also known as Giggles
Wicke (farm). It is not known how many generations back the family
lived there. The Giggle name is found in various forms in U.S.
Federal and England census records, such as Giggle, Giggles, Giggal,
Giggall, and Jiggle.

1841 England Census Record:
In 1841, at age 55, Joshua Giggall was married to Anna, worked as a
clothier, and lived at Northgate in Horbury, two doors down from
their their son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Ann Giggal. He was
born in the same county he resided in (Yorkshire).

1851 England Census Record:
In 1851, at age 71, Joshua Giggal was widowed, worked as a labourer
pauper, and lived at 45 Northgate in Horbury. He was born in
Horbury, Yorkshire.
